Information for Parents and Students during the Movement Control Order
Last Updated 25th March 2020
Dear Parents and Students,
As you know the Movement Control Order has been extended until the 14th of April 2020. As parents and students we understand that you will be concerned about ongoing classes as well as preparation for exams. Our teachers are committed to keeping our students prepared and trained, physically and mentally.
Fees:
Fees will be collected for the month of March but any classes missed in March will be replaced. Fees for April will be confirmed depending on how long the MCO lasts. The online training will be provided free of charge.
Online Training:
In order to keep the students in tone, the teachers will be using alternative training methods.
- This may include - YouTube resources and exercises to do, Online classes - either interactive (e.g. via zoom) or broadcast (e.g. via YouTube)
- The teachers are free to decide which of the methods will be used and the frequency of the training. As for interactive classes, classes may be grouped together or divided into smaller classes depending on requirements and technology.
- Scheduling of the training will be done by the individual teachers.
- Training content is to be decided by the teacher and will be mostly conditioning exercises and ballet drilling techniques. When possible their graded examination exercises will be practiced too, subject to physical space constraints.
Preparation for online training
- Flooring - You may use a Yoga Mat or a big towel as flooring. This is as a precaution to reduce impact on joints especially when exercises involve jumping. Guardian Pharmacy and Watson's have Yoga Mats for sale. Please call before you go as stock depends on branch and availability.
- Attire - Ballet attire (Leotard, Tights, Ballet shoes) must be worn with hair neatly tied up for all live video sessions on Zoom.
- For interactive classes, please be prepared 15 minutes before your scheduled class. Don't be late.
- Parents/Students please setup Zoom beforehand and adjust the audio and video settings before the online class.
- Ensure that enough space is available for your child/you to move.
